  Absolute Total Kaos!
The Total Kaos Circus Troupe was started in March 2001 with a group of 15 students. These students chose to be a part of this lively, bright and creative bunch so that they could perform circus tricks and advance their skills.
When students come to Halls Head they are more than welcome to join the troupe, so long as they are kaotic and semi-skilful!!
Being a part of Total Kaos not only develops circus skills, but also hand/eye coordination, teamwork, trust and cooperation and most of all CONFIDENCE.

When students show they are involved and willing to be a part of the circus for the long haul, they are issued with an official Troupe T-shirt and then as they progress through different skills and pieces of equipment they are rewarded with badges to sew on the sleeves to show just how well they are doing. For each piece of equipment there is a certain level that needs to be attained before you can progress. The Circus Kid is the first badge you need to get and then from there the possibilities are endless!!

This year Total Kaos spent time with a travelling circus from Albany who showed them how to perform some great new tricks and to use new pieces of equipment.

Total Kaos was seen drumming and chanting their way around the streets of Perth City Centre. They were keeping a groovy beat and wearing some “way-out-there” costumes!!
The Kaos also had the opportunity to climb the trapeze and try to swing around. Try not to look down - you’re up very high!
They climbed as high as they could on the Performance Ropes and sometimes got stuck.
The whole event was fantastic and everyone involved had a great time!!
Be sure to catch Total Kaos whenever they are performing!!

Students in Year 10 at Halls Head Community College can really prepare themselves for a future in the Arts arena. They can choose from two fantastic courses that allow them to express their individuality and need to be seen!!
  • BODY FUNK
“So you want to be a “Popstar”! In this fantastic course, students get to look at all elements of dance and human movement from ancient times right up to the most hip hop happenin’ styles of our current pop star sensations. This course allows freedom of expression through dance and music. Students complete tasks that will challenge and promote their fitness, flexibility, rhythm and movement. Students will have the opportunity to further these studies in Year 11 Dance at the Senior College
  • STAGECRAFT & DRAMA
In this course, students have the opportunity to prepare themselves for year 11 Drama or Drama Studies (TEE). This is a practical based subject that caters to the needs of aspiring actors and those who want to work backstage, but who are not so sure about being on the stage. We study Drama from the Ancient Greek days, right up to current contemporary Australian films. There is a compulsory theatre visit that makes up the course. What it is will depend on touring groups to the Mandurah area. This course is hard going, but very rewarding.
